(Quick Update, 1/12/10)
• My DVD "Best of 101 Dog Tricks" has been picked up
by Petsmart and Petco. I don't think they are quite on the store shelves yet,
but should be there very soon.
• My manuscript for my 5th book, "101 Ways to Do More With Your Dog!"
is due at the end of January. It's going to be close!
What's new: I'm working as a set trainer on a NatGeo TV series called
"My Dog Ate What?" Interesting stories! I'm filming a trailer for a possible
new Animal Planet TV series. Fingers crossed!
What's on my whiteboard?: "Bridge and Target" training. I'm experimenting
with using a target to teach behaviors instead of a lure. The theory is that
a food lure is too overwhelmingly distracting for the dog, and a target allows
them to focus better.
What's next?: I'm not sure. I have an idea for another DVD— sort of
a "Get Fit With Fido" theme.
TV show: I signed with a "Hollywood agent" who is going to try to pitch
a TV show with me. All the networks seem to want more conflict in the show ideas
that I pitch (more fighting, more drama.) Lame.
